When I started to make these dresses, about a year ago, I decided that I was going to make one hundred of them.
Why one hundred?
On a purely practical level, that's the number of labels I had to buy when I was getting together everything that I needed to start sewing. My plan was make one hundred dresses, use up all the labels, then take the time to have a little pause and a re-think before I ordered any more.
Well, it turns out that I've been so busy thinking about the dresses and making plans for the dresses and trying to figure out how best to sell the dresses, that I hadn't realised I'm already past the half-way point!
How far past the half way point depends on whether you count the dresses that I've made for myself and for my niece along the way, but I've certainly made more than fifty dresses in this last year.
This isn't quite all of them, I don't think - I need to have a good root around through my photographs, as I'm sure there are a couple missing. I also have some great dresses coming up - look out for the prettiest recycled vintage duvet covers, and also a custom order featuring narwhals!
I may still have a fair way to go, but I think one hundred dresses is a nice round target to aim for, before I decide whether or not to move on to making something different.
